Hi,

just today i've discovered AudioCodex and... wow! So great app! I will pay for it Smile

I was used to foobar2000 before the switch to Mac OS, and moving to iTunes was a pain... Now, you give me some new hope: something is moving in the right direction in the Mac world too, and with style. Cool! I love your app!

I've searched the forums and googled a bit, so here are my requests... I would use AudioCodex during the whole day with:

- a last.fm plug-in (or there's another solution out there?)
- *advanced* tag editor (perhaps writing also to the iTunes library?)

Cheers
Hi gp,

We have no plans to add a last.fm plug-in at present, though if there was enough demand for it, we would consider it for a future release.

What do you envision for an advanced tag editor? More tags than iTunes offers? Can you suggest some specific tags you'd like to see?

Cheers

Hi Alex, thanx for your answer.
I really hope for the last.fm plugin-in :) For me is a must-have!

Advanced Tag Editor: yeah, more tags than iTunes. There would be a lot of suggestions here :) If you look, for example, how discogs.com is "tagging" an album here: http://www.discogs.com/release/35888
you'll see that iTunes does not consider, for example, the style (multiple-valued tag), the release country, the label, catalog number, etc. As far as I know those tags are considered like standards.

Foobar2000 on Windows is great because it allows the user to define his own tags for organizing the library. I think this would be a too-much-advanced feature... but how do I organize, for example, my classical music on a Mac? I mean, writing into the MP3s the Orchestra's name, performers, solists, etc. Since now there's no solution at all to do this on Mac :(
The audiophile Hydrogenaudio community (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org) - where i come from :) - is really active on this front.

[ehr ehr ehr The best would be the integration with discogs.com, since they release APIs for accessing freely to their data: this would be really helpful for Mac users with an huge music collection like me. ehr ehr ehr ]

Hello Alex!

I'd also appreciate a last.fm plugin!
I need this plugin to switch finally.
But otherwise, great software!

We haven't forgotten about everyones requests for various forms of integration with other 'protocols' including last.fm; we have made some preliminary investigations already, and we do intend to continue to investigate this area more fully in the near future.

We have been working hard since the v 1.0 release to prepare a solid update that fixes and / or alleviates a variety of issues which couldn't be resolved fully before the v1.0 release date, and this has been occupying most of our development time these last few weeks.

This update will be posted sometime in the coming week, and once it is out I will undertake to do some more detailed research on the topic, so I should soon be in a position to provide some more concrete information on the Forums about what we may be able to implement, and a rough timeframe for that implementation.

Cheers,
