Certain songs dont play correctly...

Out of my 1500 songs in my library, there are 2 albums that when any of the songs from those albums play, they play correct speed, but the timer moves twice the speed, so at 2:45, the 5:30 song ends...so i cant get the whole song to play without the timer moving faster....my trial did the same thing, so i purchased the program thinking it would go away, but it hasn't...

help anyone?

RE: Certain songs dont play correctly...

Hi,

Haven't encountered this one before, you don't give us much to go on... could you give us a hint as to what type of files these are ? i.e what is the file extension on the files.... m4a, mp3, aac etc.

It's also important for us to know the following info when tracking down errors:

Mac OSX version & localisation
Mac-specs i.e MacBook, iBook, etc, also if the machine uses an Intel or PPC CPU
QuickTime version
AudioCodex version

Even knowing that information it is probably only possible to determine what is going on by examining one of the problematic files first-hand; any chance of providing us with a sample?

Cheers,

Mark Hill

RE: Certain songs dont play correctly...

Intel Macbook 10.5.6
Quicktime 7.5.5
AudioCodeX 1.47

the 28 files in question are mp3s. 128 kbps 22,000 kHz.

8 are from an album I imported from a purchased CD using iTunes, and 20 are mp3s converted from imported garage band Aiff files... I have hundreds of other mp3s of the same specs but they dont misbehave like this...

Hi Steve,

Thanks for providing that additional info in such a complete manner, that gives me a definite place to start; the 22kHz samplerate would seem to be involved. I'll investigate further and let you know what I discover; I'm sure this will be solve-able, but it might be a week or two before a patched version is available as I'm away on vacation as I write this.

Cheers,

Mantis

Hi Steve,

Just a quick note to let you know that I've finally tracked down the cause of the errors you reported with 22kHz files, and that this bug will be fixed in the up-coming AudioCodex 1.5.

Cheers,

Mark

RE: Certain songs dont play correctly...

Hi Steve,

This is another issue that is fixed for 1.5; what happened was that in 1.49 we introduced a brand-new transport controller; even though it has the same visual appearance as the last iteration of the previous controller, the underlying code was completely rewritten, and a few 'oversights' slipped through testing. As a result, in 1.49, to have the controller register a position change you need to mouse-down and drag by at least 1 pixel.

Rest assured we are giving the transport controller a hammering in pre-release testing, in 1.5 it should be 'bulletproof' Smile

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Steve,

All I can say with confidence at this point is that it will be more than a couple of days, and less than a month; we will announce more details on the Forum as soon as we are confident that everything we've implemented to date is working solidly. We're in heavy pre-release testing ATM, but haven't settled on a firm release date as yet; we want 1.5 to be as solid as we can make it, with no 'almost working' features this time Wink.

In the interim, if you would like to test out a preview version, contact me via private message or email and I'll see what I can do Wink

Cheers,

Mark
