Lost FX file

Started AC and my Fx chain setup is missing and will not allow me to make a new one. What's up?

RE: Lost FX file

Hi Ross,

In the current version the FxChain only becomes usable once a CoreAudio-compatible file (e.g. mp3, aif, mp4, caf, wav, aac) is loaded for playback (usually by double-clicking on a track in one of the playlists).

If a non-CoreAudio-compatible file is loaded (e.g mov, m4v, avi, flv, m4p) the FxChain is disabled, as AudioCodex will be using QuickTime for playback; there will also be a blue 'Q' Quicktime icon visible in the playback progress LCD when QuickTime playback mode is active.

Let me know if this helps or not,

Cheers,

Mark

MarK
It's not that it is not usable, the setup I had is GONE and I can't create a new one.

RE: Lost FX file

I had to save a patch before I could put something into it. Seems like something is backwards here.

RE: Lost FX file

Hi Ross,

Sorry if I misunderstood, is the problem that you had saved a named FxPatch, but when you try to load that patch nothing happens?

Also would be useful to know what version you are using ( go 'to AudioCodex -> About AudioCodex' menu to see ), your OS version and machine type (PPC /Intel).

Cheers,

Mark

RE: Lost FX file

Hi Dogmastyle,

There is another possibile reason your fx chain was lost that Mark hasn't yet mentioned, so I thought I'd pipe up.

If the track you are adding FX to is under the iTunes source item, your fx chain will only last through the current session. To make persistent fx chains, you first need to make sure the track is in an AudioCodex playlist.

Is it possible that this is the cause of your problem?

RE: Lost FX file

It seems that there is a bug with the way the fxchain is created. It works after U create a patch first. then I can load.
