Main Window

The AudioCodex main window is divided into six regions. There are four collapsable inner subpanes which display the Sources list, Visualizer, the Tracks list, and the Dials pane. Each of these inner 4 subpanes can be ‘collapsed’ to hide it from view when not needed, or expanded when changes are required.

You can open the AudioCodex main window at any time by choosing View → AudioCodex or by using the keyboard shortcut Cmd-0.

The two remaining permanently visible regions, the Transport Panel and the Toolbar, are discussed below.

Transport Panel

The Transport Panel is always visible at the bottom of the AudioCodex window This panel contains the main transport slider/position indicator, the loop-region slider, and displays playback data such as the current track name and remaining time.

Transport slider

The Transport slider represents playback time visually, and is used to set In and Out points for Loops, and supports arbitrary Markers at user defined time stamps.

Note that the Transport slider only offers rough adjustment accuracy. For fine control, the Track Inspector offers millisecond accuracy.

Time and Mode regions

The Time region indicates pitch adjustment, current playhead time, and time shift (in BPM)
In Core Audio mode, the Mode region shows Core Audio CPU usage, play time remaining, and the fx icon indicates that the FXChain is enabled
In QuickTime mode, all Core Audio features are disabled

Toolbar

The Toolbar is always visible at the very bottom of the AudioCodex window. This panel contains the main playback control buttons, volume slider, and action menu button. On the left are four buttons to configure the display of subpanes. There is an Inspector button open the fine control Inspectors.
