Sharing
AudioCodex can send and receive audio streams to and from other supported Audio applications running either on the same Mac as AudioCodex, or on any other Mac on the local network.
This allows you to do a number of potentially cool things:
- Use AudioCodex as a sound-source in GarageBand
- Use GarageBand as a sound-source in AudioCodex
- Use AudioCodex to share audio files from one Mac with every other copy of AudioCodex running on the local network
Bonjour Sharing Inspector
The Bonjour Sharing Inspector allows the user to configure all aspects of this exciting new feature; reveal this inspector by choosing View → Bonjour Sharing... or via the keyboard shortcut Cmd-5. The Bonjour Sharing Inspector contains two disclosable sections, NetSend and NetReceive.
NetSend
The NetSend section allows the user to configure AudioCodex’s default NetSend unit. Sending is enabled by default, and configured to name the output stream [username]’s Head’, which is how other supported audio apps will identify the output from AudioCodex.

AudioCodex’s default NetSend AudioUnit is located immediately prior to the output mixer in the AudioCodex AUGraph, and thus the shared audio stream contains all AU Effects configured in the FxChain, as well as any Warp, Equalizer & Reverb effects, without it’s output level being affected by the output mixer.
NetReceive
The NetReceive section allows the user to configure AudioCodex’s default NetReceive unit. Receiving is disabled by default, and must be manually enabled after each launch, as the NetReceiver will automatically try to connect to the first detected NetSend host, which will in most cases be the same copy of AudioCodex.
